Craig Wellington is CEO for Black Opportunity Fund, a national charity that promotes socio-economic empowerment for Canada’s Black communities. At BOF he is helping lead transformative initiatives in the areas of health, justice, education, homeownership and entrepreneurship. Wellington has helped lead the development of BOF’s sponsored investment entity, BOF Capital, which has launched a $100 million Growth Fund to invest in Black led businesses, and a $50 million Housing Fund to create opportunities for home ownership for Black Canadians.

Wellington has held leadership positions in not for profit organizations for more than 30 years, and is a tireless champion for social justice and equity.

Wellington co-leads the Justice Pillar for ‘Transforming the Lives of Black Children & Youth,’ a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) national research initiative; he is a member of the board of BOF Capital; he is a member of the Advisory Council for the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub at University of Ottawa, Carleton; he is a member of the EDI Advisory Council for the ‘One Child, Every Child’ health research initiative led by U of Calgary; he sits on the Executive Committee for the Fair Chances Coalition Canada which is challenging corporations to revisit barriers in hiring for persons with criminal records; Craig sits on the Steering Committee of the Black Community Housing Advisory Table (BCHAT); he is a board member of Let’s Talk Science an organization focused on STEM education for children & youth; he was a member of the City of Toronto’s Community Benefits and Social Procurement Program Advisory Body for FIFA World Cup 2026; and is a former member of the Toronto Chief of Police’s Black Community Consultative Committee.

Craig is a 2025 recipient of a King Charles III Coronation Award, and was named to the 2023 list of Top 100 Canadian Professionals.
